According to me…..

Hello Friends and Neighbours:

South Riverdale Community Health Centre’s staff, volunteers, and Queer Action Committee (QUAC), in partnership with WoodGreen Community Services’ staff and volunteers are pleased to invite you to attend the 3rd annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, 2-spirited, Queer, Questioning, and Intersex (LGBTT2QQI) PRIDE BBQ CELEBRATION!

THIS IS A QUEER POSITIVE & FREE EVENT FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING LGBTT2QQI, FRIENDS, AND NEIGHBOURS.

We can promise all who join us a great party mix of MUSIC, ART, GAMES, FOOD and FUN, along with a RAFFLE featuring great prizes from a variety of local (and not so local) sponsors!

When: Thursday June 24th (Rain or Shine)

Time: 12 noon to 3pm

Where: South Riverdale Community Health Centre, West Yard

955 Queen Street East (just East of Carlaw Ave.)

Our celebration marks the 30th year that LGBTT2QQI PRIDE is being celebrated in Toronto. It has been 41 years since the Stonewall rebellion of June 28th – July 2nd, 1969, when a group of butch lesbians, transsexuals, and drag queens who were patrons of the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, fought back in a courageous and defiant show of resistance against New York City cops who had raided the bar.

The Stonewall Riots have come to represent the first real show of resistance against systemic intolerance, persecution, and violence directed at queer and gender variant individuals, as well as the start of what was to become a world wide gay civil rights movement

Spread the word, and come join us in celebration of LGBTT2QQI Pride!

what would be the best way to get there by ttc? ( i live near pape station) is there a bus that goes south on pape or carlaw?

looking forward to it! 😉 see you there

      oops found it~

If you take the 72 Pape bus down to Queen from the subway – you just walk 2 seconds East…. and there we are!!!
And don’t forget, right now you have to catch the Pape bus at Donlands, NOT at Pape.

      😉

    • Yes girlie..it’s easy from there.
Take the Pape bus 72 or 72A…. you have to catch it on the corner at Danforth right now, not in the station… go to the South West corner.
And go right down to Queen. Once there, go east…. left – on the south side of the street. 🙂 About half a minute of walking.
You will see the church right on the corner? It’s beside in, on the lawn. 🙂 You won’t be able to miss it. Noon to 3. 🙂
It’ll be great to see you there!

  2. Oh, and did I mention? We are having the game Twister. LOL How silly is that? lol Face painting and a raffle, and twister…music, food.. sounds great to me!!! 🙂

  3. Indeed…who could resist that? lol
That’s what we are counting on…..high numbers of people… to raise awareness….by using food! lol

  4. We are very lucky – we do all sorts of summer fest things. 🙂
It’s a great and wonderful place, Toronto. 🙂
Parents can be that way – until one day they realize what is really important. And yes, as you have figured out – we are attracted to what we know. Not always good or healthy for us, but it’s comfortable because it’s what we know… and it’s hard to change that. Sometimes a *normal* relationship is boring to us because we are used to some type of drama. It’s an addiction of sorts. But I think as we get older we see this and we grow… and eventually tire of the drama.
I think we have to love those we love for what and who they are capable of being – they were taught to be who they are, too…after all. 🙂

I hope you have a most incredible day lady. 🙂 Always terrific to hear from you. 😉

  5. plus,..who could resist FREE BBQ? YUM!!!!

  6. sounds like you will have a blast. I suppose I will be doing the same ol’, same ol’ here, but if I wasn’t and could,…I’d be there! Have a great day! I am spending Father’s Day at home…won’t see my dad until tomorrow evening…. you know what is ironic? My dad is always too busy for me on most days, which ironically reminds me of the man I have been in love with, who keeps telling me, “maybe things will calm down, and then…”
You know, the one you said was an ass to me?
Well, back to the dailies here.
I hope your day has been full of love 🙂
    Tamara

  7. Wonderful! Are you going to do your eyes up like that picture? I’m thinking of doing it! lol 🙂

Be great to see you there girlie! 🙂
