Invite you to attend a free screening of

HOME SAFE TORONTO is the second in the SkyWorks series of documentaries

that deals  with how families in Canada are living with the threat and the experience of

homelessness. It shows how the housing crisis in Canada is an expression of the

increasing economic and job insecurity that has devastated the manufacturing

sector in the Greater Toronto Area and throughout southern Ontario. The film

reveals the consequences of this “new economy,” where families surviving on low

wages with no benefits, or on dwindling social assistance, are faced with the terrible

choice between keeping a roof over their heads or putting food on the table.

  1. If you want to know about Barb Hurd of Housing Action Now you just have to read how she supported a government managed head tax on all tenants to support funding people like her

Even though she works at a government funded community legal clinic she supported the Harris governments’ cuts to legal clinics right on the Ontario government Hansard record in trade for a promise to make the tenant group she was the Chair of a government funded legal clinic, something the Harris government had the sense not to do, but she supported them anyways to suck up to them.
